I started my photography career during the 80's shooting for Sports Car Magazine and as a stringer for a variety of services. Every the race season was the same. Each week started with packing up the family and heading for places like Summit Point, Watkins Glen or Lime Rock. Most of the time we camped out and cooked on a wood fire. I had one of the best meals that I can remember at Line Rock. It was late night after driving up the Taconic in the rain. The narrow Taconic at night would have been enough, but rain. It was still raining when we pitching our tent. The meal consisted of hot dogs and cold duck. When we woke up we found that the tent had been pitched on the side of a hill.
Then after the race we packed up drove home and I wrote the story and developed the photos. The photos and story were done and submitted just in time to start the cycle again the next weekend. Of course I was a lot younger then. In recent years I have concentrated on an exploration of nature, especially those moments when sun, wind, snow and or surf combine and happen. I find great interest in showing the familiar in an unexpected way. Sometimes there is an art moment in the unnoticed.
